I started my musical training in Algona, Iowa, where I began playing the clarinet in fourth grade and switched to oboe in eighth grade.  I am a 1986 graduate of Algona High School, and earned a bachelor's degree in music education from the University of Northern Iowa and a master's degree in music education from Drake University.

This is my tenth year in Ankeny.  Prior to teaching in Ankeny, I taught 5-12 band at CAL Community Schools in Latimer, Iowa and 5-6 band at the United School District in Boone, Iowa. 

I enjoy spending time with my husband, Stoney, my daughter, Autumn, and our cat Aria.
